Director Amin Nassour marked an exceptional opening for the nineteenth edition of the International Festival of Theatre and Cultures in Casablanca, through the premiere of his new play "Data Love".
The work, which brought together a distinguished artistic ensemble including Mounia Lemkimel, Maryam Zaimi, and Abdelnabi Albanyawi, delved into a contemporary issue par excellence related to the dominance of artificial intelligence over the joints of daily life, extending to its intervention in human feelings and emotions. The performance succeeded in attracting significant audience interest and interaction, which confirmed the ability of Moroccan theater to keep pace with global transformations and raise existential questions in an attractive artistic style, thus opening the festival's program with a topic that touches on the concerns of international public opinion. In parallel with this artistic brilliance, the opening ceremony witnessed powerful moments of recognition through honoring prominent artistic and media figures, where the Moroccan artist Mounia Lemkimel, the Palestinian artist Tahani Samel, along with the Jordanian journalist Rola Al-Habahbeh and the Egyptian artist Mazen Al-Gharbawi were celebrated. This diversity in the honorees reflects the identity of the festival as a forum for cultures, especially with the continuation of performances until April 25 with the participation of international groups from Palestine, Italy, and France. The event is not limited to the stage only, but extends to include spaces for academic and professional discussion through seminars and training workshops supervised by a group of artists and specialists, to enhance artistic dialogue between participants and the audience.
