Moroccan cyclist Omar Saidi announced the success of completing the first phase of his world tour, which he dedicated to the African continent, after a journey of four months during which he covered more than 47,000 kilometers in a solo adventure.
Saidi explained, in a post published on his "Facebook" account, that he undertook the journey under difficult circumstances, where rough roads constituted about 80 percent of the route, in addition to other challenges related to the desert, daily dangers, fatigue and fear. He pointed out that he faced several difficulties during the journey, including a lack of resources, technical breakdowns, and the complexities of crossing borders, adding that the month of Ramadan passed him by while he was on the road, between travel and harsh conditions. The speaker affirmed that he returned safely to Morocco, expressing his pride in what he achieved, and considering that he succeeded in recording a precedent by completing a round trip across Africa in difficult circumstances and individually. Saidi also thanked everyone who supported him during this adventure, stressing that he dedicates this achievement to his country.
