HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Several supermarkets in Casablanca have recorded weak demand for purchasing Eid sacrifices, despite starting days ago to display "sheep" of various breeds and sizes within their commercial spaces.
HIBAPRESS observed the continued presence of large numbers of unsold sacrifices, while a number of customers confirmed that the high prices adopted in these spaces are pushing them towards the Rahbat markets, traditional markets and farms, where sacrifices are sold at lower prices. Speakers explained that the price difference between supermarkets and other points of sale has become noticeable this year, especially for well-known breeds such as "Sardi" and "Tamhadit", which has made a number of families prefer to look for less expensive options that suit their purchasing power. Eid sacrifice prices in some supermarkets range between 75 and 83 dirhams per kilogram, depending on the type and quality of the sheep, which many consider a high price compared to popular markets and direct points of sale.
