HIBAPRESS – Khalil Fezazi
The work on the Wadi Al-Sakia Al-Hamra bridge project in the city of Laayoune continues at an advanced pace, with the project's progress reaching 56 percent. This is part of one of the major infrastructure projects in the Laayoune Sakia Al-Hamra region, and it is expected to represent a qualitative addition to the road network in the area.
The project extends for a length of 1.65 kilometers, with a total cost of 138 billion centimes. According to the available data, it will be the longest bridge of its kind nationally, given its size and importance in strengthening road infrastructure.
The bridge is expected to enter service in July 2027, according to the announced timeline, with the aim of improving mobility and facilitating road connectivity, as well as keeping pace with the urban and economic dynamism of Laayoune and its surroundings.
The project reflects the volume of investments directed towards developing infrastructure in the southern provinces, in the context of strengthening connectivity between road axes and improving mobility conditions, thereby supporting the region's attractiveness and contributing to meeting its development needs.
With the work reaching this stage, attention is now focused on completing the various components of the project within the set deadlines, in preparation for the exploitation of this road structure during the summer of 2027.
