HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
A patient suffering from a chronic illness is experiencing a worrying health situation inside the August 20th hospital, amidst treatment that sparks dissatisfaction and raises serious questions about the care provided to patients. She found herself, according to what was witnessed during the incident, without treatment despite needing medical care and oxygen.
After two days in the hospital, the patient did not receive the necessary treatment. The focus was instead on demanding tests, without providing the expected medical care considering her health condition.
More alarmingly, the patient, who requires oxygen, was told she had to buy it herself if she wanted it, at a time when she should have been receiving the necessary care and a responsible medical assessment of her health status.
The incident did not stop there, as the patient was asked to leave the hospital and vacate her room without receiving the required treatment. She was informed that if she refused to leave, her health condition would be her own responsibility, raising serious concerns about how a patient with a chronic illness requiring medical care is being handled.
What happened raises pressing questions about the responsibility of the hospital institution in dealing with medical cases, and the extent to which the patient's right to treatment and dignity is respected, especially when it comes to a health situation that requires medical attention and cannot afford to be taken lightly or leave the patient to face their fate alone.
In light of these facts, urgent intervention from the management of the August 20th hospital and the competent health authorities is necessary to ensure the patient receives care, to investigate the circumstances of her treatment, and to determine responsibilities regarding her being asked to leave without treatment. Health institutions were established to provide care to patients, not to push them out when they are in need of treatment.
