The Regional Industrial Acceleration Zone in Nador is witnessing an escalating labor crisis, following the administration of "AEOLON" (AEOLON RENEWABLE ENERGY MOROCCO) resorting to escalatory measures against union activity, which threatens social peace within the institution.
In this context, the Human Resources administration issued a formal summons to the union activist and Deputy Secretary-General of the union office, Mohamed Wergat, to appear before a hearing session based on Article 62 of the Labor Code. This is in connection with accusations of committing a "gross error" consisting of being present near the factory gate for an hour without prior permission on October 12, 2026, and refusing to immediately return to his duties.
The administration has set the hearing session for this afternoon, October 15, 2026, at 4:30 PM at the company headquarters, in the presence of the employee delegate and the labor inspector, to confront the concerned party with the legal provisions of Articles 39 and 61 of the Labor Code.
In contrast, labor circles consider these measures a new link in a chain of systematic harassment and a malicious attempt to pave the way for the expulsion of the union leader due to his solidarity with his colleague Hassan El Badri, which places union freedoms and workers' rights in the region in a tense situation that portends dangerous developments.
