US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he would not use nuclear weapons against Iran, also ruling out the deployment of US ground forces inside Iranian territory.
In an interview with Newsmax, Trump discussed the GBU-43/B bomb, known as the "Mother of All Bombs," the largest conventional non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal, saying, "The Mother of All Bombs is not nuclear."
He added, "It's just a very, very big bomb. It's like a small nuclear bomb, but the Mother of All Bombs is one big bomb, not nuclear."
Trump continued, "I will not use nuclear weapons. We do not need to."
Regarding the possibility of sending US troops to Iran, the coverage of the interview stated that Trump does not expect the deployment of US ground forces inside the country, indicating that the options on the table focus on airstrikes, although escalation of military operations if he decides to resume them is not ruled out.
