A serious traffic accident, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, resulted in the death of four people and injuries to a number of passengers with varying degrees of severity, following the rollover of a passenger bus at the entrance to the Takonit commune in the Zagora province.
According to local sources, the bus, which was operating a trip starting from the city of Marrakech, was involved in the accident around six in the morning, after it deviated from its course before overturning, under circumstances whose causes are still undetermined.
The incident mobilized various concerned authorities, as local authorities and Royal Gendarmerie elements moved to the scene of the incident to secure the surrounding area and contribute to intervention operations and the transfer of the injured to the Zagora Provincial Hospital to receive necessary first aid.
Specialized bodies have also launched an investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, in order to determine the circumstances of the rollover and ascertain the causes that led to it.
