The Al-Shubir district in the city of Jarsif, after the disappearance of Friday, June 20, 2025, was shaken by a painful tragedy, after a child sank while he was trying to swim in the waters of Wadi Malalo, in the middle of a state of astonishment and sadness among the population.
After notice, national security and civil protection staff moved to the place, where the child’s body was found, before it was quickly transferred to the regional hospital, where his death was confirmed.
This incident left a deep sorrow in the hearts of participants and residents of the Al-Shubir district, which gathered in large numbers near the valley as soon as they learned the incident. A number of citizens have required urgent intervention by the authorities concerned to prevent swimming in this navigable path, due to the danger it poses for the lives of children and adolescents, especially during the summer.
This incident is one of the series of drowning incidents that the region is experiencing each year, which requires concerted efforts between the authorities and civil society to intensify awareness campaigns and provide ways to prevent children from protecting these repeated tragedies.
