HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Fouzi Laajaj, Minister of Economy, Finance and Public Administration Reform, confirmed that the government intends to work on simplifying construction procedures for citizens wishing to build their homes in rural areas, as part of measures aimed at facilitating access to housing and responding to the specifics of rural areas.
This approach comes in the context of the constraints faced by a number of rural families due to the complexity of administrative procedures related to obtaining permits, and the resulting difficulties in building homes, especially in areas whose real estate and spatial nature imposes special requirements.
Simplifying these procedures, if implemented through clear measures, would contribute to facilitating citizens' access to building permits, while taking into account urban planning controls and safety conditions, in response to the needs of the rural population and helping to improve their living conditions.
Laajaj's statements came during the joint public session held by the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, in accordance with the provisions of Article 68 of the Constitution, on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives, dedicated to presenting the draft finance law for the fiscal year 2027 by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Public Administration Reform.
