This is a touching story that breaks the heart, about a student who has not yet reached his nineteenth birthday, hailing from a humble family in the city of Settat, who made their home in a ground-floor apartment in the Al-Khair complex neighborhood. The mother, a housewife, stands with pride without surrender, caring for her young children with honor, planting hope, and warming the family atmosphere. The father is a sanitation worker, standing tall like a spear, sweeping streets and public spaces, and contributing to ridding the city of people's discarded waste and food remnants.
This is the story of a small family consisting of the father, mother, and four siblings, with "Zakaria" in the middle, who was raised with good upbringing based on certainty in God Almighty, noble morals, and speaking softly.
Fate decreed that God afflicted him with an illness since his birth, after the simple family discovered his illness following a series of medical examinations and tests. It became clear to them that he was suffering greatly in terms of liver function.
The poor father, along with his wife, embarked on a journey to find a cure. They traveled to various clinics and hospitals, knocking on the doors of hope and supplication. They paid no attention to the expenses, but rather spent all they earned, both openly and secretly. They even knocked on the door of bank loans to cover the deficit, and even put their apartment up for sale, their highest and most important goal being to save Zakaria's life.
Days, months, and years passed, and the illness remained with Zakaria, weakening his thin body and spreading silently. Zakaria faced it with resilience and certainty in God Almighty, hoping He would relieve him of the affliction, and his tongue would praise and thank God in all circumstances.
This is the state of the father, who confided in us during our interview. He said that as soon as he heard the news of his son's illness, he prostrated himself, thanking God in all circumstances.
Zakaria did not surrender to illness and pain, but continued his academic journey to achieve his dream of obtaining the Baccalaureate certificate.
During the past academic year, Zakaria recounts that he was taking the national exam when the pain, accompanied by bleeding from the nose, surprised him. He quickly rose from his exam seat at Al-Amal High School in Settat, rushing to the health facilities. Afterward, his condition worsened, and he could not continue the exam. His journey ended without him being able to take the supplementary session.
He is now appealing to the concerned authorities to facilitate his re-registration and to provide him with a "transfer certificate" from the institution where he was studying, which they refused to give him, according to him and his parents, on the grounds that there are still financial sums owed by his family.
HIBAPRESS received a call from his parents stating that the family wishes to issue a distress call, appealing to His Majesty the King, may God protect him, and to all philanthropists and citizens, to extend a helping hand and save their son's life, which requires a delicate surgical operation through a liver transplant.
Through the microphone of HIBAPRESS, the student cried out, hoping it would find someone to answer the call. He stated that he suffers from severe pains that have taken away his sleep and caused him to scratch his skin continuously, sometimes using a comb. He has made his family's phone available to everyone for assistance: 0651136519
