The used car market in the city of Oujda has recently witnessed a cautious stagnation among professionals and traders, influenced by several economic and seasonal factors that directly reflect on the buying and selling activity.
In a field survey of the opinions of stakeholders and professionals within the market, one seller indicated that the market in Oujda experiences a great diversity in the car offerings, which vary according to the purchasing power of citizens. He explained that the flow of trade is governed by the logic of the "personal budget"; where a large segment of customers prefers to acquire economic cars with prices ranging between 3 and 4 million centimes, while others turn to different models according to their financial capabilities. He also pointed out that the decline in demand during certain periods is sometimes linked to specific circumstances such as the back-to-school period and seasonal expenses.
For his part, another professional confirmed that the used car market experiences disparities based on the categories and brands in demand. In terms of economic and popular cars, demand remains steady for brands like Renault, Dacia, Peugeot, and Qashqai. For example, Dacia car prices range between 5 and 20 million centimes depending on their condition and model. Regarding fuel prices, professionals believe that the prices of gasoline and diesel play a role in guiding consumer choices, but trade remains closely linked to the overall market supply and demand.
The car market in Oujda remains a true mirror of the local economic situation, as professionals await the improvement of climatic conditions and the revival of commercial activity, amid hopes for the return of dynamism and support for the purchasing power of the ordinary citizen.
