The "HIBAPRESS" website received a press release issued by the Joint Memory Center for Democracy and Peace, following the historic royal speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, on Friday, October 31, 2025. The center said that this speech came at a very important time for the issue of the territorial unity of the Kingdom, and coincided with a historic decision by the UN Security Council, which categorically confirmed that the autonomy initiative constitutes the realistic and serious solution to settle the fabricated regional dispute.
In its statement, the center expressed its great satisfaction with the advanced content included in the royal speech and the UN resolution, praising Morocco's continuous efforts in promoting the peaceful and negotiating approach to resolving complex issues. The statement also affirmed that this approach reflects international recognition of the autonomy initiative as a democratic option that preserves human rights, enhances dignity, and establishes lasting peace in the region.
On the other hand, the Joint Memory Center, in its statement, praised the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in managing this national file, which was embodied in linking legitimacy to achievement, sovereignty to development, and spatial justice to human rights. The statement affirmed that this strong royal vision reflects the Kingdom's deep commitment to the values of peace and justice at both the national and international levels.
The statement also welcomed the royal decision, which provides for updating and detailing the autonomy initiative, noting that it reflects the spirit of openness to strengthening local and democratic participation, and is in line with global transformations and the requirements of transitional justice. The statement also addressed the humanitarian appeal that His Majesty the King addressed to the citizens in the Tindouf camps, calling on them to return to their homeland and contribute to building a common future.
