HIBAPRESS – Chafiq Anouri
The Governor of the Province of Berrechid, Jamal Khalouq, issued an official decision to regulate the opening and closing hours of pharmacies located within the jurisdiction of the Berrechid commune, with the determination of a new weekly on-call system, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of pharmaceutical services and bringing them closer to citizens.
According to the decision, signed on October 8, 2025, which the "HIBAPRESS" website reviewed, the year was divided into two time periods in which the working hours differ. The first period was set from October 1 to April 30, with pharmacies opening from 8 am to 8 pm without interruption, and from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.
As for the second period, which extends from May 1 to September 30, pharmacies will open from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm, and from 9:30 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.
During the month of Ramadan, pharmacies will operate from 10 am to an hour and a half before the iftar time.
The decision emphasized the need to respect the weekly on-call system, in coordination between the Regional Council of Southern Pharmacists and the local authorities, where three pharmacies are appointed for guarding (night, day and another during holidays), to ensure the continuity of service around the clock.
The decision also obligated pharmacists to place clear signs indicating working hours and the names of on-call pharmacies, on the pharmacy front, with notification to the competent authorities in the event of any temporary or emergency closure.
The governor of the province stressed in his decision the need to respect the new provisions, assigning the task of monitoring and implementation to the local authorities, regional interests and the Regional Council of Pharmacists.
The decision, which comes within the framework of efforts to regulate the pharmaceutical facility and improve the quality of health services for the benefit of the province's population, came into effect from the date of its signing.
