The ambiguity in outlining the features of the Iranian position towards any potential negotiations with the United States continues, in light of a clear contradiction between what Washington announces and what Tehran describes, whether regarding the possibility of holding new meetings or even the level of representation in any expected talks.
In this context, the Tasnim Agency reported that the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to Pakistan is not within the framework of any negotiations with the American side, but is limited to bilateral talks with Islamabad related to Tehran's comments on the file of ending the war, stressing that there is no negotiating path currently proposed with Washington. For his part, Araqchi explained that his foreign tour, which includes Pakistan, Oman, and Russia, aims to coordinate on bilateral issues and conduct consultations on regional developments, without referring to any participation in direct negotiations, despite talk of the possibility of Pakistan passing as a previous ground for mediation. In contrast, American media, including CNN, quoted officials in the Trump administration that Washington is considering sending envoy Steve Witkoff, along with Jared Kushner, to participate in possible talks with the Iranian side in Pakistan, linking this to progress in the level of political representation, and the absence of some prominent Iranian parties from any potential meeting. But the Iranian narrative came differently, as the Tasnim Agency described this news as "allegations", stressing that there are no negotiations on the agenda with the American side at the present time, which reflects the continuation of the state of disparity in the two sides' reading of the path of communications. In light of this political tension, developments coincide with a noticeable military escalation, after the United States announced the strengthening of its naval presence in the Middle East with the arrival of a new aircraft carrier, in addition to repeated American statements talking about the decline of Iranian military capabilities, which increases the complexity of the scene and puts any possible diplomatic path before a difficult test in the next stage.
