Today, the Sidi Abed district witnessed a dangerous fire inside an apartment in the Al-Omran subdivision, which resulted in the almost complete destruction of its contents, causing significant material losses.
Upon being notified of the incident, civil protection elements quickly moved to the scene, where they began an intensive intervention in an attempt to control the flames that spread rapidly inside the apartment, in what were described as difficult conditions. During the extinguishing operation, one of the civil protection elements was injured while performing his duties, where he received first aid at the scene before being transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment. In the same context, the incident mobilized various security services and local authorities of the second district, as the fire's surroundings were cordoned off and secured, with an investigation opened to determine the circumstances and details of the outbreak of this fire. The incident caused a state of panic and anxiety among the residents of the neighborhood, who closely followed the course of the intervention, while no loss of life was recorded.
