The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Antwerp organized, on Saturday, in the city of Harelbeke, a mobile consulate for members of the Moroccan community residing in the Flanders region. This initiative aimed to bring consular services closer and enhance the quality of administrative services provided to them.
This consular outreach falls within the framework of the proximity policy pursued by the Moroccan Consulate in Antwerp for the benefit of the Moroccan community, in line with the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates. This operation witnessed significant turnout from members of the Moroccan community residing within the territorial jurisdiction of the consulate, who benefited from a range of consular and administrative services, including the renewal of passports and electronic national identity cards, as well as the authentication of documents and the completion of a number of different administrative procedures. The Consul General of the Kingdom in Antwerp, Mounir Katito, stated in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency that organizing this mobile consulate comes within the framework of the special care that King Mohammed VI continues to give to members of the Moroccan community residing abroad, as well as in the context of efforts to facilitate citizens' access to consular services and avoid the burden of travel. The Consul General explained that this operation, which is the second of its kind since the beginning of this year, achieved remarkable success, both in terms of turnout and the nature of the services provided, pointing out that more than 400 consular services were completed, including the deposit and withdrawal of passports, national identity cards, and notarial contracts, in addition to providing consultations related to personal status and civil status. He added that this initiative received great satisfaction and approval from members of the Moroccan community, who expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Antwerp to bring the administration closer to citizens and facilitate their access to consular services in the best conditions. In the same context, the Consul General stated that the Consulate General will continue this dynamic by organizing "Open Days" throughout the month of June, every Saturday from ten in the morning until half past two in the afternoon, with the aim of facilitating and accelerating the process of delivering passports and national identity cards, especially as this period coincides with the travel season and the return of members of the Moroccan community to their homeland. This initiative provided an opportunity for direct communication with members of the community and to learn about a number of their concerns and expectations related to administrative and consular services, with the aim of improving the quality of reception and enhancing the efficiency of the services provided. The organization of this mobile consulate was well received by the beneficiaries, who praised this initiative aimed at bringing the administration closer to citizens and facilitating the completion of their interests in appropriate conditions.
