The phenomenon known as the "Sheep Hotel" has returned to the forefront in a number of popular neighborhoods and economic housing complexes, coinciding with the approach of Eid al-Adha and the start of families purchasing sacrificial animals a few days before the occasion.
A number of residents, especially those living in cramped apartments, resort to renting places designated for temporarily housing the sacrificial animals in exchange for money that varies according to the area and services provided, a phenomenon that repeats itself every year in major cities. In recent days, random advertisements have spread, offering services for housing sheep inside garages, warehouses, or the roofs of buildings, amid a high demand from families who do not have suitable spaces to keep the sacrificial animal inside their homes. In contrast, this unregulated activity raises concerns related to hygiene and safety conditions, especially within high-density residential areas, which prompts a number of residents to demand stricter monitoring to avoid any health or environmental problems.
