The State Secretariat in charge of Traditional Industry, Social and Solidarity Economy, in partnership with the Chambers of Traditional Industry of the Casablanca-Settat and Marrakech-Safi regions, is organizing the National Week of Traditional Industry in Athens, Greece, during the period from May 19 to 24, 2026, with the participation of a selection of Moroccan traditional craftsmen and artisans.

The organization of this event comes within the framework of strengthening the radiance of the Moroccan traditional industry on the international level, consolidating cultural cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Greece, as well as supporting parallel cultural diplomacy aimed at introducing the richness and diversity of the authentic Moroccan heritage, and highlighting the creative skills and crafts rooted in the Moroccan identity that the national traditional industry possesses.

This event will feature an exhibition that includes more than 30 pavilions dedicated to displaying various products of the Moroccan traditional industry. In this context, the Chamber of Traditional Industry of the Casablanca-Settat region will participate with 15 pavilions representing a number of traditional crafts, including leather clothing, jewelry, traditional tailoring, plant products, municipal zellige, wooden products, traditional textiles, in addition to the Madionia carpet. A traditional fashion show will also be organized on the occasion to celebrate authentic Moroccan fashion.

For its part, the Chamber of Traditional Industry of the Marrakech-Safi region will contribute with 15 pavilions through which it will display a group of traditional crafts for which the region is famous, such as traditional painting on fabrics, jewelry making, Souiri hammering, traditional shoe making, juniper wood products, traditional textiles, leather products, pottery, in addition to spatial products and oils extracted in traditional ways.

In parallel with this event, a Moroccan caftan show will be organized in which a collection of creations by traditional craftsmen will be presented. A major symposium on the dialogue of civilizations will also be organized on May 20, 2026, in Athens, with the participation of prominent figures from both the Moroccan and Greek sides. As a token of friendship between the two countries, the Kingdom of Morocco will gift a fountain of authentic Moroccan zellige, and then prepare and install it in a public garden in the Kifissia area of Athens, within the framework of strengthening cultural and civilizational rapprochement between the two friendly countries.
