Morocco has continued to improve its position on the map of African economies most open to investments, after topping the continent in the Investment Freedom Index for the year 2026, according to data published by The Global Economy website, based on data from the American Heritage Foundation.
The new classification reflects a remarkable improvement in Morocco's performance, which garnered 80 points out of 100, compared to 75 points in the 2025 edition, adding five points to its score within one year. Globally, Morocco ranked 17th out of 175 countries covered by the index, placing it among economies with a high degree of openness to investments. This result strengthens the Kingdom's position in the continental investment landscape, at a time when it seeks to solidify its economic attractiveness and attract more capital, benefiting from its position as a link between African, European, and international markets.
