HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Moussad
Local circles in the city of Beni Tadjit, administratively belonging to the province of Figuig, have reacted to the growing concerns of a number of citizens and community activists regarding the necessity of organizing and developing the pharmacy guard service in the region, especially during night periods and on holidays and festivals, to ensure the continuity of health services and the provision of essential medicines in emergency cases.
Local figures have stressed that the nature of emergency health cases cannot tolerate waiting or long-distance travel, making the adoption of a regular and clear pharmacy duty system a necessity to avoid the confusion experienced by the population when in desperate need of medicine outside of regular working hours.
In a statement to a community activist in the region, he emphasized that "securing the pharmacy guard service is a shared responsibility that requires close and continuous coordination between the local authorities and the pharmacists' syndicate, to reach a well-regulated organizational formula that addresses the aspirations of the population and guarantees their constitutional right to health and medicine in a timely manner."
Organizing the duty schedule and making it clearly public is expected to contribute to alleviating the suffering of patients and their families, and to improving health services in the city, taking into account the geographical specificities of the town of Beni Tadjit and the needs of its residents.
