Morocco and Guinea reaffirmed, on Tuesday in Conakry, their shared will to give new momentum to the strategic partnership between the two countries, in order to continue elevating their economic, trade, and cooperation relations.

This will was reaffirmed during the eighth session of the Joint Cooperation Committee between Morocco and Guinea, jointly chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Guineans Residing Abroad, Morissanda Kouyaté.

During this session, the two ministers praised the distinguished long-standing bonds of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity that unite the two countries, as well as the mutual appreciation and respect that characterize the ties between King Mohammed VI and President Mamady Doumbouya.

After an in-depth examination of the state of bilateral cooperation, they reiterated their joint will to elevate the Moroccan-Guinean partnership to a strategic level, based on mutual interests, shared prosperity, and sustainable development, and to make it a leading and innovative model for South-South cooperation.

After commending the Guinean President's vision for the "SIMANDOU 2040" program, Bourita affirmed on this occasion Morocco's readiness to share its development experience with Guinea, in accordance with the high directives of King Mohammed VI.

He also expressed the Kingdom's willingness to contribute to the implementation of the aforementioned program, particularly in priority sectors such as strategic infrastructure, security, fisheries, health, industrial and agricultural transformation, food security, capacity building, water resources, and energy.

In the same context, the two parties praised the strengthening of the legal framework governing their bilateral cooperation, through the signing, during the eighth session of the Joint Cooperation Committee, of 25 cooperation agreements covering a wide range of sectors, including economy and finance, air transport, customs, agriculture, energy, tourism, justice, health, meteorology and climatology, ports, housing and urban planning, sports, culture, handicrafts, higher education, scientific research, and innovation, as well as areas related to academic scholarships and vocational training.

The two ministers renewed their commitment to ensuring the follow-up of the implementation of this enhanced legal framework, with the aim of further consolidating the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Guinea.
