HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif El Baz
New data in the case of the death of Moroccan immigrant Abdelrahim Faqir in the Italian city of Bologna has revealed the existence of a 28-second video recording, documented by the second police officer who participated in the victim's apprehension using his personal phone, about half an hour before the intervention that ended with him being restrained on the ground and his death.
This recording is added to approximately 20 video clips collected by the Public Prosecution, which is examining their content to determine the circumstances of the death and the causes that led to it. Investigations had previously focused on a recording from a camera mounted on the chest of a police officer, which documented the intervention for about 20 minutes, from its beginning until the moments when Faqir appeared lying on his stomach with his face pressed against the asphalt.
The multiple recordings, including the new clip, are expected to contribute to clarifying the sequence of events and determining responsibilities in this case, which is receiving judicial and media attention in Italy.
