In implementation of high royal directives, Abdellatif Loudayi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of the National Defense Administration, received this Thursday in Rabat a delegation from the US Congress, headed by Mr. Brian Mast, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
On this occasion, the two officials expressed their satisfaction with the distinguished long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America, and the high level of cooperation in the military field, renewing their commitment to consolidating mutually beneficial relations and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
A statement from the National Defense Administration indicated that the officials also reviewed the status of defense cooperation, which is characterized, in particular, by the regular convening of the Defense Consultative Committee, the frequent exchange of visits by senior officials, and the joint organization of the large-scale annual exercise "African Lion," which today represents a key lever for success serving the joint operational aspect of the armed forces of participating countries, especially African ones.
During this meeting, Mr. Loudayi praised the explicit and positive support of the United States of America for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire territory and for the Moroccanity of the Sahara, as well as the constructive American efforts made in this regard for the final settlement of this dispute.
He also highlighted the various South-South cooperation and regional integration initiatives launched under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God support him, and thanks to His Majesty's insightful vision, which has made the Kingdom of Morocco a dynamic player in achieving stability and shared prosperity for the African continent.
For his part, the US Congressional delegation praised His Majesty the King's leadership, which has made the Kingdom of Morocco an important player in stability and peace in the face of the various challenges and stakes that characterize regional security.
The statement concluded that at the end of this meeting, the two parties expressed their ambition and common will to consolidate this strategic partnership in the future, and to strengthen exemplary cooperation relations, particularly in the fields of defense industry, cybersecurity, and space.
