Abdel Ghani Limoun has returned to the forefront of the political scene in South Taroudant, after successfully securing a parliamentary seat in the name of the Justice and Development Party, achieving 23,810 votes. This result has shed light again on his experience in managing local affairs, especially in the city of Oulad Teima.
Limoun began his experience in municipal work from the local commune of Isene, where he accumulated experience in managing local affairs and his name became associated with a number of projects. He then moved to Oulad Teima, where he managed to reach the presidency of the municipal council, leading the city during a term that witnessed the launch and implementation of a number of infrastructure, equipment, and services projects.
However, the 2021 elections brought a shift in the city's political map, after the National Rally of Independents party, in alliance with the Independence Party, managed to reach the presidency of the municipal council, ending Limoun's tenure at the head of the commune.
During the subsequent term, the management of local affairs in Oulad Teima remained a subject of public debate, particularly concerning the outcomes of projects and the extent to which they met the growing expectations of the residents. With the 2026 elections, the ballot boxes delivered results that strongly brought Limoun back to the forefront, after he garnered a remarkable electoral base, especially within the area where his name has been associated for years with municipal work.
This result carries local political significance, given Limoun's transition from the experience of heading the commune to the legislative institution. He now faces a different challenge, which is to convey the expectations of the residents of South Taroudant to Parliament and to defend the region's issues from the position of a parliamentary representative.
Following the announcement of the results, Limoun sent a message of thanks to the residents of the constituency, expressing his gratitude for the trust placed in him and affirming that the result represents a responsibility and a trust for him. He pledged to work diligently and sincerely to serve the region and contribute to achieving its residents' aspirations.
