The Spanish government is preparing to approve, next Tuesday, an exceptional decree-law aimed at accelerating the procedures for returning migrants present in the occupied city of Ceuta to Morocco, according to the Spanish newspaper "El País".
The newspaper explained that the government is working intensely on preparing the text, 57 days after the mass crossing to Ceuta, and after weeks of technical meetings, noting that the Ministry of Interior is leading the preparation of the decree, with the participation of a number of ministries.
The source added that the decree will include all asylum applications registered in Ceuta since the mass crossing that occurred on July 30 and 31, and it also includes reducing the deadlines associated with the administrative and judicial procedures for returns to Morocco.
According to "El País", the government seeks to approve the text during the cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday, which will allow for accelerating the procedures related to the return of migrants who are still present in the city.
