HIBAPRESS – Tangier
The Minister of Transport and Logistics issued a decision authorizing the relinquishment of ownership of a number of land parcels necessary for the implementation of the high-speed rail network project in Tangier and the doubling of a section of the line connecting Tangier and Fez, at the level of the Commune of Al-Awama in the prefecture of Tangier-Assilah.
The decision, issued on July 23, 2026, concerns a section extending from kilometer point 09+922 to 16+231, as part of a project whose public utility has been previously declared, and includes the doubling of a part of the railway line connecting Tangier and Fez.
This measure comes based on the results of the administrative investigation conducted in the Commune of Al-Awama during the period from April to June 2025, and after consultation with the Minister of Interior, in order to complete the legal procedures related to the project's implementation.
In the context of railway projects, a second decision was also issued concerning the allocation of land parcels for the expansion of the high-speed train line corridor between Kenitra and Marrakech, at the level of the Commune of Oulad Ghozim South in the province of Settat.
