HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Daher
This Wednesday morning, the authorities of Marrakech continued the operation to demolish the remaining informal and illegal structures on Prince Moulay Abdullah Street, formerly known as "Asfi Street," putting a final end to the occupation of public spaces and reclaiming public property.
The head of the Gueliz administrative district, accompanied by elements of the auxiliary forces and local officials, supervised the demolition of the last informal structures in Arsat El Batma, which were built illegally.
In past years, Prince Moulay Abdullah Street had been the subject of frequent complaints from numerous citizens and road users due to the proliferation of buildings and shops constructed on parts of public property, leading to the narrowing of pedestrian pathways and affecting traffic flow.
The file of Prince Moulay Abdullah Street is also under special follow-up by the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, El Khotib Hebil, since the programming of its redevelopment project. The street is considered one of the most important arterial roads in Marrakech, given its strategic location and the daily traffic density it experiences.
