HIBAPRESS – Fes
An excellent police inspector has been referred to the Preliminary Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal in Fes, in connection with a judicial file related to accusations of "exercising arbitrary action that infringes upon freedom and violence," according to information obtained by HIBAPRESS from a source familiar with the matter.
The details of the case stem from an incident involving the arrest of a street vendor, under circumstances suspected to be linked to a prior dispute between him and the police inspector involved in this case, before the matter took a judicial turn that ended with its referral to the Criminal Chamber.
According to the information contained in the file, the street vendor was asked to accompany the officer to the security duty department to verify his identity, where he was subjected to a search. The search, according to the hearing record, did not result in the discovery of anything that would justify taking judicial action against him.
The complainant also stated during the investigation stages that a dispute arose over his business activity in one of the city's alleys, before the incident escalated, according to his account, inside the police station. These details are now under investigation within the judicial proceedings.
The investigating judge had ordered the prosecution of the police inspector concerned based on the acts forming the subject of the file, before the case was referred to the Preliminary Criminal Chamber, which will examine the various data, hear the parties, and discuss the elements of the prosecution before issuing its decision in accordance with the law.
