The death toll from the horrific traffic accident that occurred on National Road No. 6, near the "Car Safala" area in the province of Guelmim, on Thursday night, has risen to five, after one of the injured died while being transported to the city of Oujda for further treatment. The deceased is a person born in 1959 and is from the city of Guelmim.
The accident occurred when a light car of the "Renault 19" type collided with a large taxi and a bicycle, resulting in an initial death toll of four people and injuries to three others with varying degrees of severity.
The incident mobilized civil defense elements, who arrived at the scene in ambulances, where the injured were transported to the Guelmim Regional Hospital to receive necessary treatment, before one of them was transferred to Oujda, but he died during his transfer.
Elements of the Royal Gendarmerie's territorial center also moved to the accident site, where they initiated the necessary legal procedures, in parallel with opening an investigation under the supervision of the competent authorities to determine the circumstances and details of the accident and the reasons behind its occurrence.
