HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
Ezzdine Alaoui, 74, has drawn the curtain on a distinguished career within the General Directorate for National Security, after more than 14 years at the head of the Regional Directorate for National Security in Tangier, before being administratively retired.
Tangier was a prominent station in Alaoui's career, during which he previously accumulated experiences and responsibilities in several Moroccan cities, including Casablanca, Mohammedia, and Fez, before taking charge of the Regional Directorate in Tangier, given the strategic importance of the region, its geographical location, and its openness to the Mediterranean front.
During his years of responsibility, the competent authorities in the region dealt with a number of sensitive security files, especially those related to combating terrorism, organized crime, international drug trafficking networks, and irregular migration, as well as a number of cases that required continuous coordination between the various relevant departments and agencies.
Throughout his tenure, Alaoui was known for his discretion, calmness, and discipline, away from the spotlight, in line with the nature of the tasks and responsibilities associated with a security agency of a special nature. His work style was also characterized by a deliberate approach to files, reliance on proactive security, and strengthening coordination among the various stakeholders.
Upon reaching retirement, Ezzdine Alaoui turns a page that spans many years of service within the national security system, after his service period was exceptionally extended on more than one occasion, before his mission at the head of the Regional Directorate for National Security in Tangier concluded.
