Laayoune Security Directorate reacted swiftly and seriously to a video clip circulated on social media, documenting a robbery incident in the city of La Marsa. This led to the arrest of a 17-year-old minor, suspected of involvement in robbing a person by using violence.
According to available information, the Police Commissionerate in the city of La Marsa did not receive any official complaint or notification regarding the incident. However, the circulation of the video prompted the Judicial Police team to initiate field and technical investigations, aiming to verify the circumstances and conditions of the incident and identify the potential culprits.
Initial investigations led to the identification of the victim, aged 35. It was revealed that the incident occurred after an alcoholic session he had with the suspect, before the latter, according to investigation results, proceeded to seize his mobile phone using violence.
Investigations showed that the victim did not file a complaint with the security services regarding this incident due to his state of intoxication at the time of the incident. This necessitated continuing the investigations based on the data provided by the circulated video clip.
The investigations and inquiries conducted by the Judicial Police enabled the identification and swift arrest of the suspect, around midnight between Saturday and Sunday, in the Al-Nahda neighborhood in the city of La Marsa. The suspect is a 17-year-old minor who has previously been involved in cases with the competent authorities.
This operation is part of the response to content circulated on social media and verifying the facts they document, allowing security services to take the necessary legal actions even in the absence of a direct complaint from the victims.
