The Dar Bouaaza region in the Al-Nawasir province woke up on Monday morning to the sounds of a demolition operation targeting a well-known spontaneous market near Al-Birka Residence, after local authorities began removing the structures and shacks that had housed commercial activities for years, in a move aimed at putting an end to public domain occupation and urban planning violations.
The operation began around six in the morning, under the instructions of the Governor of Al-Nawasir province, and with the participation of various concerned departments. Bulldozers and demolition equipment were mobilized, along with elements of auxiliary forces and security. The authorities ensured the security of the intervention area and monitored the implementation of the decision.
According to local sources, the operation allowed for the opening of a main road that had been blocked for years due to the spread of vendors and their occupation of parts of it. This is expected to reflect positively on traffic flow, especially in the directions leading to Al-Rahma neighborhood and Provincial Road No. 3018.
This intervention comes after repeated complaints from neighboring residents regarding congestion, waste accumulation, and noise associated with the market's activity.
