HIBAPRESS – Ouarzazate
The city of Ouarzazate is preparing to host the International Cinema City project, the construction of which has been programmed on a real estate area of 10.49 hectares, with a total investment of approximately 240 million dirhams. This initiative is part of an integrated approach that relies on a "one-stop shop" system, aiming to consolidate various services related to the film industry within a single space.
The project is based on five integrated poles covering different stages of film production. The first is a production pole that includes a 3,000 square meter shooting studio, alongside a pole dedicated to post-production and archival preservation, which will provide suitable spaces for processing and storing cinematic works.
The components of the International Cinema City also include a pole for training and skills development, another for innovation and creative technologies, as well as a pole for reception, services, and cinematic tourism. This direction aims to strengthen the cinematic infrastructure in Ouarzazate and provide more integrated conditions for the various stakeholders in the field.
Given its size and multiple components, this project is expected to be a new addition to the cinematic sector in the city, which has accumulated significant experience in hosting the filming of cinematic productions. It also opens up prospects for enhancing its attractiveness as a destination for national and international productions, and supporting economic and tourism activities related to cinema.
