The socialist Mohamed El Mars, from the city of Sefrou, topped the results of the elections for the National Council of Chartered Accountants in Morocco, which took place last weekend. He secured the first place nationally in a professional election keenly anticipated by circles concerned with the future of the professional organization of chartered accountants in the Kingdom.
The Directorate of Public Enterprises and Privatization in Rabat is expected to host a session next Tuesday dedicated to electing the President of the National Council and its office members. This is a pivotal stage that will shape the future management of this professional body.
In his first statement after topping the election results, Professor Mohamed El Mars called on the Ministry of Economy and Finance, represented by its delegate on the committee responsible for managing the National Council of the professional organization, to demonstrate positive neutrality and respect professional will. This, he stated, would ensure the safeguarding of the democratic choice of chartered accountants and enshrine the principles of transparency, equal opportunity, and adherence to democratic rules.
El Mars emphasized, through this stance, the importance of providing suitable conditions for the next phase to proceed in a responsible professional atmosphere. This atmosphere should reflect the independence of professional choice and respect for the will expressed through the ballot boxes, in line with the democratic principles established by the Kingdom's constitution.
From Sefrou to Professional and Political Responsibility
Mohamed El Mars is one of the prominent figures from the city of Sefrou. He has accumulated a political and activist career within the Socialist Union of Popular Forces, within which he grew and advanced through its organizational structures. He previously held responsibility for the socialist student sector at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University for many years.
His experience within the university marked a significant milestone in his activist journey, which later culminated in his membership in the party's National Council. This reflects his widespread presence within the party organization and his engagement with its various organizational and political stages.
El Mars topping the national professional election results adds a new chapter to his career, placing him at the forefront of the process related to forming the leadership of the National Council of Chartered Accountants in Morocco.
