HIBAPRESS-RABAT-After “Wasaya Arrasoul”
The sermons of our noble Prophet, Salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam, are the most precise and provide the best advice. He knew how to combine his edifying sermons with an effective transmission of the message and a concise vocabulary. Never has a man given words of such vast benefit, whose meaning is so clear and the statement so truthful.
They left the best marks thanks to a very simple elocution and embellished with the best advice. Indeed, Allah granted him conciseness (jawamiî Al Kalim) in speech and distinguished him with wisdoms of great magnitude, as confirmed in the two authentic collections from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, Salla Allahou Alaihi wa Sallam, said: “Allah has granted me (for my mission) conciseness in speech (jawamiî Al Kalim).” (Reported by Bukhari (2977) and Muslim (523)). Al-Maziri, may Allah have mercy on him, explained: “A concise speech (jawamiî Al Kalim), according to what I was told, means that Allah allowed him to have a speech whose utterance carries innumerable meanings by expressing only one or two sentences and which previously took up much more space in the old books.” By reflecting on his sermons, one can find in them both completeness, good advice and eloquence. He also adapted his sermons to the needs and interests of the gathering. But most of the time, however, his speeches were centered on the praises and eulogies due to Allah, on His deeds, His Perfect Attributes, His blessings, the principles of Islam, Paradise, Hell, Resurrection, inciting to piety by emphasizing the deeds that bring about the Wrath of Allah and those that bring about His Satisfaction. The pilgrimage is therefore a propitious occasion and a precious opportunity to give good advice, to guide people, to attract their attention, to teach them and to show them the path to follow. Hearts (on this occasion) are open (to sincere advice), souls are serene and filled with ardor to do good. It is therefore opportune for the preachers to redouble their efforts and to concentrate their attention, on the occasion of this blessed period, on actions such as good advice, teaching and guidance while remaining faithful to the teachings of their noble Prophet, Salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam, and following his beautiful example. Indeed, they must ensure that their speech is centered on the preaching of the Prophet, Salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam, and on his guidance from which they draw good advice and their explanations. Certainly, he is the best adviser there is, the perfect model for every preacher, just as he is the master of all guides. “You have in the Messenger of Allah a good example for him who hopes for Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.” (Quran: 33/21) The sermons that the Prophet, Salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam, delivered especially during the Farewell Pilgrimage are of extreme importance. They correspond to the recommendations of a person who is close to death. Unlike other situations, when the approach of death is felt, we only give of our words and actions what emanates from the deepest part of ourselves. He also alluded to this reality in his sermon of the Farewell Pilgrimage, in these words: “As for me, it is possible that I will not be present the next Pilgrimage.” (Muslim). He then began to bid farewell to the people and they concluded: “This is the Farewell Pilgrimage.” » This is why Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said about this famous sermon: “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is! This is his testament (or his recommendation) to his community.” (Reported by Bukhari).
