The Rabat Primary School decided, this Monday, October 28 in the evening, to reserve the follow-up file of the journalist “Hamid El Mahdaoui” for reflection until the next session on November 11.

The journalist “Al Mahdawi” was indicted as part of the complaint filed against him by the Minister of Justice, Abdel Latif Wehbe, according to the summons document, for “disseminating and disseminating false allegations and false facts with the aim of to defame persons, slander and public insult”, based on articles 443, 444 and 447. Minister Wehbe’s defense had demanded financial compensation amounting to 10 million dirhams, while the defense of the following journalist demanded that he be followed in accordance with the law on the press and publishing.

While the public prosecutor insisted on prosecuting Mahdawi under the Penal Code, even though the Justice Minister’s complaint was clear when talking about the Press and Publications Law.

Al-Mahdawi’s defense also requested, in a previous hearing, that Minister Abdel-Latif Wehbe – the complainant – appear before the governing body, in order to confront the accused and clarify the justifications and motives of filing this complaint.

It should be noted that Minister Wehbe had already filed complaints against a number of journalists, including Hisham Al-Omrani and Muhammad Al-Tijini, for the “Ashkayn” site, and Abdel Haq Balshkar, for the “Al-Youm 24” site. “. in addition to activist Reda Al-Tawjani.
