Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli died last Friday at the age of 83. The Italian agency ANSA specified that the designer died at his home in Florence (Tuscany) after a long illness.

Born on November 15, 1940 in Florence, the leather capital of the world, the designer took his last breath at home. His funeral will take place today, April 15, in the same city.

Known above all for his printed stretch leathers and faded jeans, Cavalli has always favored the spectacular aspect in his creations, particularly through his passion for animal motifs.

Couteur to stars of the 70s like Brigitte Bardot or Sophia Loren, for whom he created outfits generously revealing the skin and shapes, he continued to seduce celebrities of more recent generations, from Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Lopez.

From the 1990s, Roberto Cavalli expanded his fashion empire into underwear, glasses, shoes, watches, perfumes, wines and restaurants…
