In response to an oral question in the House of Advisors, El Midaoui indicated that this master plan will make it possible to define the type of establishments and training courses which will be accredited according to an approach taking into account the complementarity between the different establishments within each region, in consecration of the autonomy of the university and in perfect harmony with economic and social changes on the regional and national levels.
“A positive reflection taking into consideration the interest of all regional and national components as well as the general interest will be undertaken on all the achievements accomplished since the adoption of law 01.00 relating to the organization of higher education “, he noted. The ministry will continue its efforts to support the needs of the regions and provinces with a view to rehabilitating, expanding and improving the quality of university and educational offerings, the minister indicated. Responding to another question on “The new academic year”, Mr. El Midaoui estimated that the increase in the number of students for the current academic year is a positive indicator which testifies to the confidence enjoyed by the higher education system. in general.
The minister recalled in this context the increase in the number of students enrolled at university which reached more than 1,307,000 students, including 90% in public universities, the increase in the percentage of students enrolled in open-access courses limited by 21% compared to the previous academic year and the accreditation of around 4,000 courses, including 3,000 in public higher education establishments.
