The Moroccan human rights activist Aziz Ghali, former president of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights, remains in detention by the Israeli authorities after participating in the "Freedom Flotilla," which aimed to break the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
Souad El Brahmi, the current president of the association, said that the situation has not witnessed any change, stressing that Ghali is the only one among the participants who has not been released, and calling on the Moroccan state to intervene to ensure his safe return to his homeland, just as other international citizens are treated.
Nawfal Bouamri, the president of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights, affirmed that Israel is practicing a retaliatory measure against Ghali because of his stances against the war on Gaza, explaining that this behavior falls within violations against human rights, and demanding his immediate release and ensuring his physical and psychological safety.
This detention comes amid widespread human rights calls to demand the freedom of Ghali, who is considered a symbol of Moroccan human rights activism and defending the rights of Palestinians in the face of the Israeli occupation.
