The court of Trento, northern Italy, witnessed an unprecedented escape incident involving a 33-year-old Moroccan prisoner accused of sexual assault.
According to sources from HIBAPRESS, the accused, who was detained in the "Spini di Gardolo" prison, feigned a health issue inside the court. He requested to be taken to the restroom, where he seized the opportunity to escape through a window, leaving behind the handcuffs he had managed to unlock. The incident triggered a state of security alert in Trento and the surrounding areas, with the Italian authorities launching a large-scale search operation for the escapee. The concerned authorities are also examining the security gaps that enabled the prisoner to escape, amid demands to reconsider the protocols for transporting and detaining the accused inside the courts.
