HIBAPRESS – Rabat
On Wednesday morning, a session of the Justice, Legislation, Human Rights, and Freedoms Committee was held in the House of Representatives, attended by the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Wahbi, to discuss the sub-budget project for the Ministry of Justice for the fiscal year 2026.
The session addressed various issues related to the development of the judicial system, particularly the issue of access to justice and litigation costs for citizens. In response to a question regarding the principle of free justice, Minister Wahbi explained that the matter is not as simple as imagined, and said: "If we make litigation free, everyone who has passed will file a lawsuit". He added that completely free justice could lead to an uncontrolled increase in the number of lawsuits, putting enormous pressure on the courts and affecting the speed of adjudication and the quality of judgments.
