HIBAPRESS – Berrechid
The Berrechid region witnessed a sudden and prolonged interruption in the supply of drinking water to citizens, lasting for several days, which caused real suffering for families, merchants, educational institutions, and vital facilities that depend on this essential material.
Local sources revealed to HIBAPRESS that the duration of these interruptions recently reached 4 days in some neighborhoods, which led to great confusion among the population.
The newspaper's sources stated that the absence of any official clarifications from the responsible authorities regarding the causes of the problem or the measures taken to solve it and avoid its recurrence, increased the state of confusion.
Citizens demanded the need to respect their right to prior notification when carrying out works or facing technical breakdowns, to protect their daily interests and avoid any disruption in public life.
Local activists called for addressing the technical and organizational problems related to the management of the water sector, including the establishment of two canals to supply the region with water from the Douarat Dam, so that one of them is a reserve to ensure the continuity of service.
