HIBAPRESS – Rabat
On Tuesday, the general discussion of draft law 59.24 concerning higher education and scientific research was held at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in Rabat before the Committee on Education, Culture and Communication.
During the discussion, Zainab Simo of the National Rally of Independents party confirmed that the project represents a strategic step in a long path of reform projects that Morocco has engaged in in recent years.
Simo considered that its importance lies in the fact that it addresses a number of structural imbalances that have continued to hinder the development of the university and its ability to integrate into a rapidly changing international environment.
Simo pointed out that a university that lacks flexibility in decision-making will remain unable to keep pace with the successive changes that the world is witnessing, which necessitates adopting a new vision that enhances the independence of institutions and gives them the necessary tools to improve training and scientific research.
