HIBAPRESS – Kenitra
In a controversial step, the administration of Al-Zamouri Hospital in Kenitra decided to install a piano in the hospital lobby, with the aim of creating a warmer and more reassuring atmosphere for patients and their companions during waiting periods, and to relieve the psychological pressure associated with the treatment phase.
The administration indicated that this step comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of reception and care services, and to make the stay in the hospital more humane, especially for children and young patients. The administration added that it has also equipped a hall inside the pediatric department that allows young patients to learn the basics of music and arts, to enable them to express themselves and alleviate tension and anxiety during the treatment period, thus contributing to a more positive recovery experience. This initiative, which comes within a partnership between Al-Zamouri Hospital, the Ibn Sina University Hospital Center, and the Dr. Fannish Foundation, sparked a wave of controversy between supporters and opponents. Supporters considered it an innovative step to give a human dimension to health services, while opponents believed that introducing a piano in the hospital lobby may not be a priority compared to other medical and logistical needs. The hospital administration affirmed that installing the piano and the hall dedicated to children are part of a broader plan to enhance the psychological and social care dimension for patients, stressing its commitment to developing reception and treatment spaces to ensure a higher quality and warmer therapeutic stay, especially for children who need a supportive environment that motivates them to recover and discover the world of art and creativity.
