The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that snowfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and locally with hailstorms and strong winds, is expected from Tuesday to Thursday in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in a warning bulletin of "red" alert level, that snowfall is expected (starting from altitudes of 1800 meters), with measurements ranging between 50 and 80 cm, in the provinces of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Khénifra, Midelt, and Azilal, starting from Tuesday at 10:00 AM until Wednesday at 12:00 PM. The same source added, in a warning bulletin of "orange" alert level, that the same phenomenon is also expected (starting from 1400 meters), from 25 to 50 cm, in Ifrane, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Khénifra, Midelt, and Azilal, and from 10 to 30 cm, in Safrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Guercif, Taza, and Boulemane, from Tuesday at 10:00 AM to Wednesday at 12:00 PM. The Directorate also expected rain showers, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and locally with hailstorms, from 40 to 50 mm in the provinces of Azilal, Chefchaouen, and Ouezzane, and from 30 to 40 mm in Tangier-Assilah, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, Rabat, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fqih Ben Salah, Meknes, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Khénifra, Fez, Safrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tetouan, M'diq-Fnideq, Kalaat Sraghna, Marrakech, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Chichaoua, Rehamna, Casablanca, Mediouna, Sidi Bennour, Sale, Temara-Skhirate, El Jadida, and Safi, on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The same phenomenon (from 35 to 45 mm) is expected to affect the provinces of Benslimane, Khouribga, Settat, Berrechid, and Khemisset, starting from Tuesday at 10:00 AM until Wednesday at 9:00 AM, while its measurements will range between 35 and 50 mm in Taza, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Oujda-Angad, Jerada, Taourirt, Al Hoceima, and Guercif, from Wednesday at 12:00 PM to Thursday at 9:00 AM. Strong winds (from 75 to 85 km per hour) are also expected in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Zagora, Tata, Sidi Ifni, Al Haouz, Guelmim, Taza, Tiznit, Azilal, Midelt, Boulmane, Guercif, Tinghir, and Taourirt, from Tuesday at 10:00 AM to Wednesday at 6:00 AM.
