HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
As part of the comprehensive mobilization to address the effects of heavy snowfall witnessed in several areas of Midelt province, the governor of the province, Mr. Abdelouahab Fadil, accompanied by local authorities and relevant services, supervised urgent field interventions in Boumia district, which included removing snow and breaking the isolation of the affected population.
These interventions took place in difficult climatic conditions, characterized by a large accumulation of snow, which caused the interruption of some rural road axes, which necessitated the mobilization of special mechanisms and equipment belonging to the equipment services and territorial communities, in addition to civil protection teams and auxiliary forces. The operations included opening vital roads to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and secure the arrival of essential materials, as well as providing social and humanitarian assistance to the population, especially vulnerable groups. Also, within the framework of these interventions, a patient suffering from kidney failure and undergoing dialysis sessions was transported, in safe conditions, to the competent health institution, after the snow prevented his movement. The residents of the region expressed their great appreciation for these field interventions, noting the personal and continuous presence of the governor of the province, and his routine outings to follow up on the operations of breaking isolation closely, in an actual embodiment of the concept of citizen authority and linking responsibility with accountability, instead of being satisfied with management from offices, as is the case in some cases. The regional authorities confirmed that these interventions fall within a proactive regional plan to confront waves of cold and snowfall, aimed at protecting lives and ensuring the continuity of essential services, while continuing vigilance and field follow-up of the climatic situation, and immediate intervention whenever necessary.
