HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
In a qualitative security strike, the security services succeeded in dismantling a secret factory specializing in the preparation and distillation of the liquor "Ma' al-Hayat" in the Chtouka Ait Baha region, and seized large quantities of materials used in these illegal activities.
The operation, which was carried out yesterday evening, Friday, resulted in the arrest of two people known for their judicial records, who were caught in one of the rural communities in the "Draied" area in the act of preparation and promotion. The search operation enabled the seizure of more than three tons and 800 liters of fermented liquids, in addition to significant quantities of raw materials and equipment and tools used in traditional distillation. This operation comes within the framework of continuous efforts to combat the manufacture and promotion of traditional liquors, due to the threat they pose to public health and security, especially in rural areas, which are sometimes exploited to establish such secret activities. The suspects have been placed under custody, pending the completion of the judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to determine all the potential extensions of this case and to reveal the rest of the alleged perpetrators, as well as to accurately identify the criminal acts attributed to them.
