The Algerian commentator Hafeez Derraji sent a coded message in which he accused the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of putting the Senegal and Ivory Coast national teams in the path of his country's team in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations currently held in Morocco.
Derraji wrote on his page: "The leaders of the first four groups in the African Cup of Nations in Morocco will face the third-placed teams in the round of 16, except for Algeria and the title holder Ivory Coast from groups five and six, as they will face the second-placed teams." He added: "If we came in second place, we would play against Ivory Coast or Cameroon, and since we are in first place, we will face Senegal or the Republic of Congo, so welcome to those who were chosen to meet our team, we will play with the same spirit and God is the best of planners." It should be noted that the draw for the African Cup of Nations, which is held before the tournament, determines the opponents of the national teams in the knockout stages, where the leading teams of the first groups play with the best third-placed teams, which is the same as what happened in the finals of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, in which the Algerian national team was eliminated from the group stage.
