The Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy witnessed two consecutive earthquakes today, Tuesday, January 13th, which sparked fear and panic among the population.
According to preliminary data, the first earthquake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter southwest of the town of Russi, followed by a second earthquake a few minutes later with a magnitude of 4.1, the center of which was determined to be east of the city of Faenza. In the city of Forlì, hundreds of residents were forced to leave their homes and go out into the streets, while the authorities evacuated all public buildings as a precautionary measure, without recording major material or human losses until now. The fire and civil protection teams continue field inspection operations to ensure the safety of buildings and infrastructure, while the authorities decided to suspend train traffic on a number of lines within the region, to enable the technical teams to conduct the necessary inspections.
